5 mars 2019 - Les pilotes européens connaissent des niveaux de fatigue inhabituellement élevés, incompatibles avec un niveau de sécurité de vol acceptable, malgré la récente législation européenne censée y remédier. Tel est le constat d’une nouvelle étude qui révèle les lacunes majeures des limitations de temps de vol (FTL) - c’est-à-dire les règles régissant la durée des vols, des temps de service et des repos des pilotes - pour les vols de nuit et les horaires décalés.

4 mars 2019 - Après deux ans et demi de négociations, l’Union Européenne et le Qatar ont conclu un accord global sur le transport aérien offrant un accès accru à leurs marchés respectifs. Cette ouverture du marché s'inscrit dans la volonté de l'Union de poursuivre la libéralisation de l'aviation et de conclure davantage d’accords dits « de ciel ouvert » avec des pays tiers. Dans les faits, l’accord n’apparaît pas satisfaisant pour les organisations professionnelles représentant les pilotes de ligne en Europe, réunies au sein de l’European Cockpit Association (ECA), dont nous vous relayons le communiqué de ce jour.

Published today by the Commission, it outlines the ‘Social Agenda’ for air crew, with the aim of achieving ‘socially responsible air transport’ in Europe. Its primary targets are airlines and temporary agencies, some of which are using loopholes and lack of enforcement of EU and national social legislation.

As negotiations on Collective Labour Agreements (CLAs) continue at varying speeds throughout Europe, Ryanair persists in using threats as a bargaining tool. Within the first three days of 2019, in negotiations with cabin crew unions in Spain, Ryanair threatened closure of two bases in the Canary Islands if the cabin crew did not sign CLAs by the 18 Jan 2019.

January 15, 2018 - Last week, a draft report was issued as part of the Air France flight 447 court case. This counter-expertise was requested by the judges to challenge the results of the first investigation. The SNPL F ALPA (the main French Airline Pilot Association) is thoroughly analyzing its content. At first sight, the union deems unacceptable to adhere to the report’s simplistic vision, where the responsibility of this tragic event lies solely with the pilots.
