Safety Bulletin IFALPA: Suvarnabhumi International Airport (BKK)
The attached IATA Operational Notice alerts airlines of the ongoing risk to aircraft operations at BKK airport due to soft ground conditions affecting the taxiways, taxi lanes, and aircraft stands. Soft ground conditions or “soft spots” have been encountered and reported by flight crews and ground service providers at BKK since at least 2008.

Le numéro d’urgence du SNPL France ALPA existe depuis bientôt deux ans. Ce service, conçu pour apporter une aide immédiate aux pilotes confrontés à un événement grave durant leur mission, est coordonné par la Cellule Emergency Number du SNPL. Organisée autour d’un groupe de pilotes spécifiquement formés, la cellule coordonne les actions urgentes, conseille les appelants et les met au besoin en contact avec le large réseau d’entraide du syndicat, en France comme à l’étranger. Le Syndicat National des Pilotes de Ligne a été plus que surpris d’apprendre que des vols à destination de la Russie, opérés par des compagnies françaises, ont dû être annulés ces derniers jours faute d’avoir obtenu formellement des autorités russes l’autorisation opérationnelle nécessaire. The International Federation of Air Line Pilots’ Associations (IFALPA) and the European Cockpit Association (ECA) fully share the concerns expressed by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) regarding the forced landing of Ryanair Flight 4978 in Minsk, Belarus, on 23 May.
